Mastering direct restorations: innovations in achieving perfect color

Composite resins combined with adhesive methods have revolutionized the field of dentistry by allowing for remarkable aesthetic and functional results through layering. However, in direct restorations, achieving an exact match of dental color remains a major challenge. Identifying and precisely reproducing tissue colorimetry remain one of the most complex tasks for dentists. To decipher dental color, it is essential to deeply understand the factors influencing it and to use appropriate tools.

Despite the existence of shade guides tailored to each composite resin system, dentists frequently encounter difficulties in achieving colorimetric matches during direct procedures. This raises the question of potential errors attributable to the different types of shade guides used in the dental color selection process.

The objective of this conference is to explore concrete alternatives to traditional shade guides by presenting contemporary methods that allow for everyday mastery of the color of composite resin restorations.
